This Privacy Policy and cookie disclosure explains how SlumberTales (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Taciturn Studios LLC at https://slumbertales.app, collects, uses, and shares information. Public support is support@slumbertales.app.
Who this site is for
SlumberTales is a parent-operated bedtime-story service. Accounts may be created only by adults 18 or older. Child profile details are collected from the parent or guardian so we can write a story. This notice describes our current children’s privacy practices, including COPPA-related practices, and similar care under other privacy laws such as GDPR where they apply. We are not currently certified by kidSAFE, iKeepSafe, or any FTC COPPA Safe Harbor program.
Information we collect
- Account data: parent or guardian email address, session information needed to sign in, and parent attribution for how they heard about SlumberTales. Attribution is never used in stories or shown to children.
- Child profile data: first name, age or age range, interests, and story preferences. We do not collect Social Security numbers, last names for public display, precise location, or phone numbers for children.
- Transaction data: payment is processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status and limited billing metadata, not full card numbers.
- Support messages: if you email us or use the parent-facing chat, we receive the content you send.
- Technical data on public pages: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring URL) and, on parent-facing pages, cookies described below.
How we use information
- Create and deliver personalized bedtime stories to the parent or guardian.
- Operate accounts, subscriptions, and customer support.
- Improve the service using aggregated or internal analytics that are not used to advertise to children.
- On parent-facing blog and educational pages only, show advertising as disclosed in this policy.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use child profile data to build advertising audiences or to personalize ads.
COPPA and children’s data
Only an adult may create an account and submit child information. We collect the minimum needed to write a story. Parents may review, correct, or delete child data, or refuse further collection, by emailing support@slumbertales.app. We will respond within 30 days. When an account is deleted, child profile data is permanently removed within 30 days except where a short legal retention period applies (for example, a completed payment record).
The personalized story product (dashboard, library, onboarding, and delivered stories) is not an advertising surface. We do not serve Google ads inside those child-story experiences, and we do not use child profile data to build advertising audiences. We do not currently load Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager anywhere on slumbertales.app.
Cookie disclosure
Cookies are small text files stored on a device. SlumberTales and its vendors use the following categories:
- Essential cookies: required to keep a parent signed in, protect the session, and run checkout. These are not used for advertising.
- Analytics cookies: We do not currently load Google Analytics (including property G-LLYC44D03T) or Google Tag Manager. Those scripts are not present on dashboard, library, onboarding, story, or marketing routes.
- Advertising cookies: Google AdSense (publisher
ca-pub-1051825252184436) may set cookies on parent-facing blog and educational content pages to serve, measure, and—where permitted—personalize ads for adult visitors. AdSense is not loaded on the cinematic homepage hero, is not placed over first-paint homepage artwork, and is not loaded on the story dashboard. - Payment cookies: Stripe may set cookies during checkout. Stripe’s use of data is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in. Google’s ad settings and privacy policy explain how Google uses data for AdSense:
Advertising on parent-facing pages
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to adult visitors on our blog and other educational content pages. Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or Google Ad Settings.
Ads are intended for parents and other adult readers of our guides. We do not create ads directed at children, and we do not use child profile information for AdSense.
Third-party services
- Email: Resend and MailerLite deliver mail to the parent address you provide.
- Optional narration: ElevenLabs may generate audio from story text when a parent enables that feature.
- Payments: Stripe processes subscriptions.
- Advertising: Google AdSense on parent-facing content pages, as described above. We do not currently use Google Analytics.
Parent-facing chat
The on-site assistant is for parents and guardians. Messages may be processed to generate a reply and retained for quality and support. Children should not use chat. You may request deletion of chat transcripts by emailing support@slumbertales.app.
Security and retention
We use HTTPS and restrict access to account data. We keep account and story records while the account is active and delete child profile data within 30 days after a deletion request or account closure, subject to limited payment or legal records.
Your rights
Parents and other visitors may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we hold, or object to optional advertising cookies, by emailing support@slumbertales.app or using our contact page.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the effective date on this page. Continued use of slumbertales.app after an update means you have had notice of the revised policy.
